Released in 2010, these effortlessly cool hamstars are seen in their slick, hot red Kia Soul 2010 ride, breezing past their hamster peers creaking by in obsolete hamster wheels. The hamstars proved irresistible and were a viral hit on YouTube with their own cult following. The commercial went on to win the Automotive Ad of the Year award at the Nielsen Automotive Advertising Awards.
Timed to coincide with the follow-up Rapping Hamstars Kia Soul campaign, Kia Motors chose BrandVia to take this hamstar crew from the streets to your home with Hamstar Collectibles. In the next campaign, these cruising hamstars adopt blinging outfits and take the mic. Their straightforward and sensible rap - “You can go with this or you can go with that” – humorously contrasts a cool green Kia Soul 2010 with clunky road toasters and cardboard car rides:
