BrandVia takes client privacy very seriously and we want our customers to be certain that, in addition to not reusing their information, we do not sell or pass it on to third parties for unrelated use. On July 4th, 2018, well in advance of the California Consumer Privacy Act changes for January 2020, BrandVia received certification from TRUSTe for our company’s adherence to the Privacy Shield principles.

 

With the incoming California Consumer Privacy Act passed in June of 2018, and the recent enactment of EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we have seen the world taking notice and prioritizing consumer data protection, the most change we have seen in over two decades.

Handling over 70,000 transactions annually in over 100 countries around the world, the team at BrandVia wanted to be confident we were ahead of these requirements for the protection of our clients around the globe.

The new regulations grant consumers the right to request a business to disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information that it collects about the consumer, the categories of sources from which that information is collected, the business purposes for collecting or selling the information, and the categories of third parties with which the information is shared. It also requires businesses to make disclosures about the information and the purposes for which it is used.

 Our current approval by the Department of Commerce lists us as a registered company with privacyshield.gov and as a compliant organization. Forbes reported on a the sad state of compliance and while few companies take this extra step to get certified, your confidence is our top priority.
