POSITION DESCRIPTION:

POSITION: Account Executive

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Executive ensures the efforts and output of their team align with the client’s needs/goals. They are responsible for preserving existing client relationships and developing new client relationships with work output being 100% referenceable. This role requires prior industry experience in promotional marketing.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / STANDARDS:

  • Meet and/or exceed annual revenue and gross margin goals
  • Secures business opportunities by identifying prospects; evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
  • Establish deep-seated client relationships by using strong listening skills; being an expert in the industry; partnering and strategizing with clients to develop individualized solutions to each project and ensuring each project is correct and on time.
  • Understanding and selling of all company service offerings
  • Participate in and help manage client on-site events
  • Create relevant proposals and pricing options
  • Understanding of Branding Guidelines; completes final reviews of production proofs; verify accuracy to specification and order
  • Ensure accuracy of go-aheads and pre-invoices
  • Communicate with customers in person, via phone, email, or other written correspondence
  • Ability to travel locally, domestically or internationally when necessary
  • Thorough understanding of, and relationship with, key suppliers in the industry.
  • Understands the value of products, why/how customers use them
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers. Keeping track of what special agreements and pricing we have with our preferred suppliers.
  • Manage a team of Sales Associates and/or Project Coordinators
  • Manage the workflow process from sales to the support team(s)
  • Isolate and identify areas of improvement
  • Conduct timely performance reviews of direct reports
  • Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with success in business to business sales and meeting sales quotas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Has a thorough understanding of project and overall profitability
  • Easily trainable on other company proprietary systems

  • When out of the office leave all projects and responsibilities in order while away (i.e. appropriate documentation, outline, delegation, and assessment of tasks to be done while you are out)

  • Outstanding written communication skills in both writing and in email. Demonstrated professionalism both in format and grammar of written communication
  • Responsive to client, supplier and peer communications

Demonstrated leadership skills –

  • Maintain professional behavior when communicating with peers, suppliers and clients
  • Provide solid suggestions to peers based on your experience
  • Be solutions oriented – this includes approaching issues with solutions, rather than issues alone
  • Appropriately address job related issues of direct reports with tact and professionalism
  • Demonstrate positive professional behavior towards company and groups 24/7, show support for company decisions, managers and peers

  • Strong sales and customer service skills
  • Think on feet when working with your internal and external customers
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities that provides solutions for clients

  • Be attentive to every team’s work load and assist where you can, proactively
  • Participate in staff meetings with helpful and productive suggestions and information

  • Multiple projects/deadlines

  • Specifically related to time in and out of work – important to be to work on time
  • Manage schedule so as to not work extensive overtime

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting
  • Perform some repetitive motion activities
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. in intermittent intervals
